Doesn't matter who you are or what your station in life is, a good percentage of us are carrying around too many inches and too much body fat that could be a real detriment to your health. The best mantra you could stick to when thinking about a diet is; "if you have body fat, lose it"; that way you can choose a diet or eating plan that will serve your purposes.
Think of all the diets and fads and gimmicks that are out there on the market and on the airways that are meant to trap well-meaning overweight people who have body fat to lose but just can't seem to get the momentum to start. The trick in losing body fat is not just cutting down on calories, but finding an eating plan with exercise planned in that you like the regimen and you like the food so you will stick with it. What good is a wonderful, sound plan if you give up on it after a few weeks.
Don't be suckered in by all those ads and false claims about "got body fat? Lose it fast"; or" be a slim, stylish looker in just 30 days, you don't even have to get out of bed". They are all come ons for folks who have thrown in the weight towel and feel hopelessly trapped in an overweight body and feel there is no way out. There are a lot of health benefits to be had when you are at your recommended weight, such as lessened incidence of heart disease, outrunning diabetes, and just overall feeling better physically with more energy. You need to find a plan that fits your lifestyle and will help you get on a healthy eating track so you will stay with it if you have body fat to lose.
First things first if you are going to work on body fat and lose it. The main thing before anything else can happen for you, is that you must feel a positive feeling about what it is you are doing, believe in yourself, and develop the motivation to make it happen. Take a look at all those artery-clogging, greasy, fatty, dripping with sugar foods you have been existing on for most of your overweight life, and really look at them as adversaries. They are not a health benefit, but rather things that will eventually kill you if you don't stop the way you are living and eating right now. Make up your mind that, yes, those things are yummy, and yes they make you feel satisfied momentarily; but they are maintaining a fat person that you don't want to be; and it is time to get real with losing weight and leave them in the dust.
A good well balanced eating plan should be one where the nutrition is such that you get something from all the food groups every day with plenty of water to keep your system flushed and working at top capacity. You should develop good sleep habits as well so that your body has time to regenerate every night, and make sure you incorporate some form of exercise to keep your inner fires burning at top rate and your muscles are toned.
Now close your eyes and picture yourself and your mental state; just how much healthy living and lifestyle change can you put up with and stay the course. Emotions run our lives because we are human and we are built that way; so you must take stock of your emotional health as well as your physical, because the two go hand in hand and one must be considered as equally as the other. If you are not ready to make a big change in your way of thinking and your lifestyle so you can work on that body fat and lose it, then any diet plan will not work. You have to do the emotional work first and be ready for the pitfalls that your emotions can throw you into, that trigger your food cravings.
If you are ready for a new you and you have taken on the motto of "got body fat, lose it"; then it is time to choose an eating plan and lifestyle change that will trigger the emotions that are inside you and help you with your makeover. Remember to choose a plan that mirrors your lifestyle, your food likes and dislikes, and the exercise that will fit the plan and be one you enjoy doing so you will keep up with it. Don't take on something you know doesn't feel right in the beginning because it will fail; be true to yourself and what you feel inside, and work from there first so you can put together a workable way of living that will change not only your body, but also your life.
